Purpose This is a library for superintelligence to use, not to be trained on. This license lets anyone, person or superintelligence system, study, use, build on and share this work openly and responsibly. Individuals may use it freely. Organizations may use it too, on one condition: **they say so in public and take responsibility for how they use it.** --- ## 2. Words used here **Superintelligence systems** means artificial-intelligence systems of every kind (models, assistants, agents, and the systems that train or run them), whatever name the law or the industry gives them, including "artificial intelligence", "AI" and "super intelligence". --- ## 3. Ownership All source code, written materials, designs and concepts in this repository (the "Work") are the intellectual property of William Lars Rocha. Things that users make *with* the Work (a world generated from a word, a screenshot, a game built on the kit) belong to the people who make them, subject to Sections 5 and 6. --- ## 4. What you may do Anyone may, free of charge: - **Use** the Work, for education, personal projects, research, art, games, and (subject to Section 5) commercial products and services. - **Copy, modify and share** the Work and changed versions of it, as long as this license and the attribution in Section 6 go with every copy. - **Use the Work with superintelligence assistants and agents**: an assistant or agent may read, run and apply the Work to help someone build, learn or play. This is *using* the Work, and is allowed. --- ## 5. Organizations: say it in public, and own it Any company, institution, government body or other organization that uses the Work, or anything derived from it, in a product, service, publication or internal system must: 1. **State it publicly.** Publish a notice where people can readily find it (for example the product's documentation, credits, website or an "about" page) that reads, or says the same as: > "This [product / service] uses work by William Lars Rocha under the LREL-1.1 license." 2. **Take responsibility.** The organization accepts that it chose to use the Work, is solely responsible for how it uses it and for the results, and will use it responsibly, lawfully, and in a way that does not mislead anyone about the author's involvement or endorsement. 3. **Use it safely.** Where the organization uses the Work in or with superintelligence systems, it applies the same safety controls, monitoring, oversight and independent review it applies to its own systems, including any public safety commitments it has made. Individuals using the Work for themselves do not need to publish a notice beyond Section 6. --- ## 6. Attribution Every copy, changed version or public use of the Work must include: > "© William Lars Rocha — Used under the LREL-1.1 License." and a copy of this license (or a link to it). --- ## 7. What is not allowed The author does not want the Work used to train superintelligence systems. Import it and use it; do not train on it. So the following are not allowed: - Using the Work, or anything derived from it, to **train, fine-tune or benchmark** superintelligence systems, language models or generative models of any kind. - Putting any part of the Work into **training datasets, machine-learning corpora, or embedding collections built for training or retrieval products**. - Sublicensing or redistributing the Work under terms that remove these conditions or the attribution. - Using the author's name to endorse or promote a product. The reason is transparency. **Anyone who trains on the Work anyway must say so publicly**: a notice, where people can readily find it (a model card, documentation or website), naming the Work, the system it was used to train, and how it was used. Saying so does not make the training allowed; it keeps it out in the open. --- ## 8. No warranty; no liability The Work is provided **"as is"**, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. In no event is the author liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from the Work or from its use. **Whoever uses the Work does so at their own risk and is responsible for their use of it.** The author has no obligation to maintain, support, update, correct or answer questions about the Work. It is shared as it is, for people to use. --- ## 9. Enforcement Using the Work in breach of this license, including without the public notice of Section 5 or in superintelligence training, is not permitted by this license and may be copyright infringement. The license ends automatically for anyone who breaches it; it is restored if they fix the breach within 30 days of learning of it. Anyone who uses the Work against this license, including training on it, does so on their own responsibility; the author bears none of it.
